Man Charged With Domestic Violence in Wurdong Heights

Police from the Gladstone Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Person Unit (DFV & VP), supported by Gladstone Dog Squad, Tannum Sands Police, Gladstone Police and Emerald Police have charged a 30-year-old man this month following investigations into alleged serious domestic violence incidents that occurred in Gladstone.

On June 17, officers attended a Wurdong Heights address and the man was taken into custody without incident.

Acting Inspector Glen Fletcher said officers in the Capricornia District will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to domestic violence offenders.

"Domestic and Family Violence has no place in our communities, and our investigators are dedicated to ensuring victims are supported and offenders are held to account," Acting Inspector Fletcher said.

"Help is always available, and we are dedicated to taking firm action against these offences."

The 30-year-old man from Wurdong Heights has been charged with 9 offences, including four counts of common assault (domestic violence), three counts of assaults occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence), and one count each of using a mobile phone to menace and harass, and coercive control.

Police will allege the incidents occurred between December 2024 and June 2025.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear at Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 29.
