Man charged with drink driving with child in car in Towradgi

A man has been charged with high range drink driving with a child in his car following a vehicle stop near Wollongong today, NSW Police say.

About 5.45pm today, police from Wollongong Local Area Command stopped a vehicle for a random breath test on Elizabeth Street, Towradgi.

The 34-year-old male driver was breath tested, which returned a positive reading.

His five year old daughter was seated in the back seat at the time.

The man was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was subject to a breath analysis, which returned a reading of 0.225.

He was charged with high range PCA, to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 30 May 2017.

His licence was suspended.

Police also notified Family and Community Services (FACS) about the incident.
