Man charged with drugs and firearms following search warrant in Swansea

Police have charged a man with drug and firearm offences after a search warrant was executed in Lake Macquarie, NSW Police say.

Just before 1pm yesterday, police attended a house on Bay Street, Swansea.

During the search, police allegedly located cannabis, a cannabis plant and an air rifle with ammunition. All items were seized for forensic examination.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Target Action Group (TAG) arrested a 53-year-old man and took him to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plant, possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, possess unregistered firearm, not keep firearm safely and possess ammunition.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Belmont Local Court on Wednesday 28 September 2016.
