A man has been charged with multiple offences after he allegedly drove his vehicle at police officers on the far north coast, NSW Police say.
About 11:43pm (Monday 3 December 2018), emergency services were called to a caravan park on the Bruxner Highway, Lismore, following reports a man was driving recklessly.
On arrival, officers from Richmond Police Area Command stopped a white Holden Commodore, registered in Queensland, and attempted to speak with the driver.
The driver then allegedly reversed the car towards police forcing one officer to take evasive action.
The car stopped, and officers ordered the man to turn off the engine.
The driver, a 42-year-old South Lismore man, was arrested and was taken to Lismore Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis and returned an alleged reading of 0.150.
He was charged with drive with high range PCA – second offence, drive motor vehicle during disqualification, use unregistered registrable Class C motor vehicle, use uninsured motor vehicle, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner danger, fail to comply with request or signal to stop vehicle.
The man was refused and appeared at Lismore Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 4 December 2018) where he was refused bail to appear at the same court on Tuesday 18 December 2018.
