Man charged with murder following the death of his father in state's Far West, NSW

A man will face court today charged over the alleged stabbing death of his father last night, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to a home on Wadsworth Drive, Gol Gol, about 20km east of Dareton, shortly after 6pm (Thursday 16 August 2018), responding to reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers from Barrier Police District found a 59-year-old man inside the home suffering stab wounds. Despite the efforts of Ambulance Victoria paramedics, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established at the location, which is being examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives from Barrier Police District, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Kotukus to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A 26-year-old man at the home and taken to Dareton Police Station.

He was charged with murder and refused bail to appear at Broken Hill Local Court later today (Friday 17 August 2018).
