Man Charged With Murder Intent in Cabramatta DV Case

A man has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of a woman in Sydney's west.

About 11.30am yesterday (Friday 23 May 2025), police were called to a house in Angelina Crescent, Cabramatta following reports of an assault

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and located a 51-year-old woman with injuries to her neck, hands and leg.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Following inquiries, a 59-year-old man – who is known to the woman - was arrested at a nearby location.

He was taken to Bankstown Hospital for a mental health assessment under police guard.

He has been charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and a Provisional Apprehended Domestic Violence Order has been applied for.

He will appear via a bedside hearing in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 24 May 2025).
