Man charged with robbery in Sydney

Police have charged a man after three robberies across the Sydney area, NSW Police say.

On Saturday 28 January 2017, a man entered a massage parlour on Pitt Street, Sydney armed with a machete.

He threatened staff and demanded money and shortly after, he fled with a phone. No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Sydney City Local Area Command commenced investigations.

About 7pm on Sunday 29 January 2017, police arrested a 20-year-old man.

He was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged with armed robbery x4.

Police will allege the man is linked to a robbery on Monday 16 January 2017 where a man entered a store on Robert Street, Rozelle armed with a machete and on Saturday 21 January 2017, a man entered a store on Little Hay Street, Haymarket armed with a machete.

On each occasion, he fled with cash and a phone. No one was injured during each incident.

The man was bail refused to appear at Central Local Court tomorrow.
