Man Charged With Ryde Sexual Assault, Robbery

Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man following the aggravated sexual assault and robbery of a woman in Ryde last week.

About 10.50pm on Saturday 1 November 2025, officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command were called to an address on Blaxland Road in Ryde following reports of an aggravated sexual assault.

On arrival, police were told about 10.25pm a woman at the address was threatened by an unknown man armed with a knife and wearing a face covering and latex gloves.

The woman handed over an amount of cash to the man; however, he continued to assault her both physically and sexually before leaving the scene.

Local police established a crime scene and commenced initial inquiries before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad under Strike Force Hollins.

Following extensive inquiries, about 8.15am yesterday (Wednesday 5 November 2025), strike force detectives executed a search warrant in Castle Hill where they arrested a 21-year-old man.

The man was taken to Castle Hill Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated sex assault-inflict actual bodily harm on victim, attempted aggravated sexual assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choke etc person without consent and robbery armed with offensive weapon.

He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 6 November 2025).
