A man will face court today charged with serious domestic violence offences after allegedly assaulting a woman in the state's central west on the weekend.
Police will allege that about 6.50pm on Saturday (18 April 2026), at a home on Woodward Street, Parkes, a man headbutted a woman – aged in her 30s – who was known to him.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the woman for serious facial injuries.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives attached to Central West Police District – with the assistance of Western Region Operations Support Group and Chifley Region Enforcement Squad – located and arrested a 26-year-old man at a residence on Condobolin Road, Parkes, about 11.25am yesterday (Monday 20 April 2026).
Police allege that at the time of his arrest, the man was in possession of a firework.
The man was taken to Parkes Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic), stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), and handle explosive/precursor without authorising licence.
He was refused bail to face Bail Division Court 4 today (Tuesday 21 April 2026).
