Man charged with trafficking cannabis, TAS

A 41-year-old Glenorchy man has been charged with drug trafficking after a series of raids by Southern Drug Investigation Services this week, Tasmania Police say.

Police allege sophisticated cannabis hydroponic set-ups were discovered yesterday at two Glenorchy addresses owned by the man.

Police seized:

  • More than 8kg of cannabis bud
  • 25 mature cannabis plants
  • 47 small cannabis plants

Police allege the drugs are valued at approximately $520,000.

The man was charged with one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.

The man was bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 11 September 2017.
