Man, child injured in explosion at Anna Bay, NSW

Investigations are underway following an explosion in Anna Bay overnight, NSW Police say.

About 10pm (Monday 24 September 2018) emergency services were called to a home on Morna Point Road, where they found a 37-year-old man and a four-year-old girl suffering non-life-threatening lacerations.

They were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Police have been working with specialist personnel from the Australian Defence Force overnight, and a number of items were removed from the home and rendered safe.

Inquiries continue.
