Man critical after crash in Narwee

A man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Narwee yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 4.15pm today, emergency services were called to Mercury Street where they

found a 21-year-old man had been run over.

Officers from St George Local Area Command have been told a man was reversing a Ford Falcon when it hit a signpost. The signpost knocked a pedestrian to the ground and he was then run over by the car.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated the man before he was taken to St George Hospital with critical injuries.

The 69-year-old man, who was driving the Falcon, was taking for mandatory testing.

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the incident.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
