Man critically injured after being hit by hatchback - Yagoona

Emergency services remain on the scene of a pedestrian crash that has left a man in a critical condition in Sydney's south west this morning.

Police were called to the Hume Highway near Highland Avenue, Yagoona, about 4am (Monday 12 April 2021), and found a 57-year-old man with critical head injuries.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The driver of the Toyota Yaris, a 56-year-old man, has now been taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene, with inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash now underway by the Crash Investigation Unit.
