Police will investigate the death of a man in a single car crash at Lake Macquarie today, NSW Police say.
Just after 1.30pm today, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash on Wakefield Road, Wakefield.
Initial investigations suggest the man, the sole occupant of the Peugeot wagon, crashed into a power pole.
A 59-year-old man was treated at the scene however, died from his injuries.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended and launched an investigation into the man’s death.
A crime scene was established which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
