Man dies after being hit by cyclist - Chippendale

A man has died after being hit by a cyclist in Chippendale.

About 2.10pm (Wednesday 1 March 2023), emergency services were called to Regent Street, Chippendale, following reports a pedestrian had been hit.

On arrival, officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command were told a man – believed to be in his 70s – was hit by a cyclist.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a critical condition; where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The rider – a man believed to be in his 40s – was uninjured.

An investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
