Man dies after being pulled from water in Glenaire

Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of a 39-year-old man in Glenaire this morning.

Officers have been told the man was standing in shallow water with children near a boat ramp in the Aire River around 10.30am.

It's understood the Truganina man got into difficulty and disappeared under the water.

Other swimmers saw the man in distress and pulled him to shore.

Paramedics quickly performed CPR, but sadly the man died at the scene.
