Man dies after being struck by car in Enfield

A man has died after he was struck by a car in Sydney’s Inner West yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 10am today, emergency services were called to the intersection of Mitchell Street and Coronation Parade, Enfield, following reports of a crash.

An 83-year-old man was struck by a Toyota Hiace van and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he later died.

The driver of the Toyota, a 46-year-old man, was not injured during the incident.

He has since been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death and had his licence suspended.

He is expected to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday 28 August 2017.

Inquiries into the crash are continuing.
