Man dies after boat collision in Paynesville

A man has died in hospital following a boat collision in Paynesville on Tuesday 11 February.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred when two boats collided off the jetty about 11.20am.

A 61-year-old Paynesville man was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital with life-threatening injuries however sadly died.

Two other men, aged 71-years-old from Newlands Arm and 68-years-old from Paynesville were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
