A driver has died after a two-vehicle crash north of Sydney.
About 8.35am today (Sunday 8 March 2026), emergency services responded to reports of a crash between a truck and a car in the southbound lanes of the M1 Motorway, Mount Colah.
The male driver of the car – who is yet to be formally identified – died prior to the arrival of emergency services.
The 27-year-old male driver of the truck was uninjured. He has been taken to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from Ku-ring-gai Police Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash – or has dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Hornsby Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The area is expected to remain a crime scene for considerable amount of time and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
