Man dies after crash near Tumut, NSW

A passenger has died after the car he was traveling in left the road in the Riverina region today, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called Wee Jasper Road at Bombowlee, approximately 8km from Tumut, about 7.40am (Sunday 10 June 2018), after reports a vehicle had left the road and hit an embankment.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was uninjured. The passenger, a 40-year-old man, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver was taken to Wagga Wagga Hospital for scans and mandatory testing and will be interviewed by investigators once he is released.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
