A man has died following a fire in Sydney's north west.
About 4:25am today (Wednesday 30 July 2025), emergency services were called to a restaurant in Oxford Street, Epping, following reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW worked to extinguish the fire originating in a commercial storage unit above the restaurant, before a 55-year-old man was located inside the unit.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition, where he died a short time later.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command have established commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
