Man dies after head-on collision at Heathcote

A man has died after two vehicles collided in Sydney's south last night.

About 11pm (Sunday 13 October 2019), emergency services were called to Heathcote Road, near the Princes Highway, Heathcote, following reports of a crash.

Police have been told a Mazda 2 travelling west and an Audi Q3 travelling east collided.

The male driver of the Mazda, believed to be aged 40, died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the Audi, a 38-year-old man was uninjured and taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory testing.

Sutherland Shire Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
