Man dies after shooting at Guildford

A man has died, and a second man has been injured following two shootings in Sydney's west overnight.

About 11.10pm yesterday (Friday 6 August 2021), emergency services were called to Boundary Road, Chester Hill, following reports a man had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command located an injured man.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

A short time later, emergency services were called to Rhodes Avenue, Guildford, following reports a man had been shot, about 11.15pm.

Police located a man with a gunshot wound. He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however, he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command, assisted by State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
