Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after a man was shot in Oakleigh East this morning.
Emergency services responded to reports a man had been shot at an address in Clayton Road just before 5.30am.
The man was located inside an apartment and was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died this morning.
A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are yet to be determined and an investigation has been launched.
The death is being treated as suspicious.
