A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the Lake Macquarie area today.
About 11.40am today (Thursday 18 September 2025), emergency services were called to Scenic Drive, Caves Beach – about 30km south of Newcastle – following reports of a crash involving one vehicle.
Police attached to the Lake Macquarie Police District attended and found a green MG station wagon had driven down an embarkment and was lodged between trees in nearby bushland.
The single occupant - an 82-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, with assistance from Fire and Rescue NSW officers; however, he died at the scene.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the crash.
Investigations are ongoing.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
