Man dies after single vehicle crash near Queanbeyan

Police are investigating after a fatal single vehicle crash near the NSW/ACT border.

About 6.10pm today (Saturday 2 October 2021), emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Lanyon Drive, Jerrabomberra, near Queanbeyan.

The male driver of a black Renault Magane was ejected from the vehicle.

He was taken to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later. The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 25.

Officers from Monaro Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the crash – or who may have dashcam footage from the area – to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
