Man dies after single vehicle crash on Tasman Highway, Runnymede

Sadly, a man has died following a single vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway at Runnymede this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene about 8.30am following a report of a single vehicle crashing into a tree.

The driver and only occupant of the utility, a man in his 20s from the Hobart area, was located however sadly died at the scene shortly afterwards.

Our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones at this difficult time.

Crash investigators and Forensic Services remain on the scene conducting examinations.

The Tasman Highway is closed between Fingerpost Rd and Buckland Motorists advised to use Nugent Road or another alternative route until further notice.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
