A man has died after the prime mover he was driving crashed in the state’s south yesterday.
Just before 10.30pm (Friday 3 January 2020), a 54-year-old man was driving a prime mover, with a semi-trailer in tow, in a northerly direction on the Hume Highway, Jugiong, 125km east of Wagga Wagga.
The semi-trailer crashed into the road safety railing, causing the prime mover to swerve across the road and eventually enter the centre median strip before hitting a number of small trees and rolling onto its side.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, State Emergency Service, the local Rural Fire Service and NSW Fire and Rescue.
The driver, and sole occupant of the truck, died at the scene.
A crime scene was established, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
