Man dies following Middle Creek collision

A man has died in hospital following a two car collision in Middle Creek last week, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a white Ford sedan was stationary on the dirt shoulder on the left-hand side of the Western Highway about 1pm on 5 July.

The driver has attempted to perform a U-turn across the west-bound lanes of the highway and driven into the path of a black Rangerover station wagon.

The Rangerover has crashed into the Ford, resulting in significant damage to the driver’s side doors.

The driver and sole occupant of the Rangerover, a 66-year-old man from Kingscote (South Australia) was uninjured.

The driver of the Ford, a 49-year-old Ararat man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he later died on 12 July.
