Man dies in hospital after crash at Tumut

A man has died in hospital after receiving serious injuries from a crash in Tumut last year.

About 9am Wednesday 27 December 2023, emergency services were called to Lambie Street, Tumut, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District arrived to find a utility had hit a power pole.

A 62-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a stable condition.

On Thursday 28 December 2023 the man was airlifted to St George Hospital after his condition began to deteriorate.

The man died in hospital yesterday (Tuesday 16 January 2024).

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
