Man dies in hospital after Haymarket pedestrian crash

A man who was struck by a car at Haymarket last month has died in hospital.

About 3.45am on Sunday 24 March 2019, emergency services were called to Sussex Street, near Goulburn Street, Haymarket, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

The pedestrian – a 61-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken S Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition.

The 47-year-old male driver of a Ford Ka was uninjured and taken to St Vincent's Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and commenced investigations into the incident.

About 4.30am today (Wednesday 17 April 2019), the 61-year-old died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
