A man has died in a house fire in Sydney’s Inner West overnight, NSW Police say.
Shortly before 2.30am (Tuesday 28 August 2018), emergency services were called to a house on Henley Marine Drive, near City West Link, Rodd Point, after reports of a house fire.
On arrival officers located a house well alight.
The two occupants inside the home, a mother and her adult son – managed to escape the blaze, however, it appears the son went back inside the home to fight the fire and suffered fatal injuries.
Fire & Rescue NSW officers remain on scene and continue to extinguish the fire.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway by officers from Burwood Police Area Command.
