Man dies in motorcycle crash near Tamworth

A man has died following a motorcycle crash near Tamworth yesterday.

Just after 4pm (Friday 17 July 2020), emergency services were called to Mooni Gap Road, near Upper Moore Creek Road, Moore Creek, about 20km north of Tamworth, after reports of a motorcycle crash.

Police have been told the rider was thrown from the motorcycle after it struck a reflector post.

The rider, a 39-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Tamworth Base Hospital where he died a short time later.

Officers from Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
