Man extradited over shooting in Queanbeyan

Police have extradited a man arrested in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) yesterday following a public place shooting at Queanbeyan at the weekend, NSW Police say.

Detectives from Strike Force Courtice obtained an arrest warrant following their investigations into the public place shooting at Queanbeyan on Saturday 15 September 2018.

About 3pm yesterday (Thursday 20 September 2018), a 60-year-old man was released from Canberra Hospital and arrested by ACT policing officers.

He was taken to ACT Watch House, charged by virtue of a NSW court warrant with three counts of shoot at with intent to murder.

The man appeared before ACT Magistrates Court today (Friday 21 September 2018), where investigators sought his extradition back to NSW.

He was taken to Queanbeyan Local Court and refused bail to appear at the same court on Tuesday 4 December 2018.
