A man has died after he was stabbed in Wollongong last week.
About 3.20am on Sunday 17 August 2025, emergency services were called to a unit on Crown Street, Wollongong, following reports of a stabbing.
Police attended and found a 28-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Wollongong Hospital in a critical condition. He was later transferred to St George Hospital for further treatment.
A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Wollongong Police District established Strike Force Alcalde to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
About 11.15am today (Saturday 23 August 2025), police were informed the man had died.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
