An investigation is underway after a man's body was found on the roadside at Wagga Wagga overnight.
Officers from Riverina Police District were called to Red Hill Road at Glenfield Park after the body of a 51-year-old man was found by a passing motorist about 10.10pm (Saturday 26 October 2019).
Police believe the man had attended a function earlier in the day and had been seen walking along Red Hill Road shortly before his body was discovered.
Officers established a crime scene and have requested assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit.
Police believe the man may have been struck by an unknown vehicle which has not stopped.
Red Hill Road has been closed between Yentoo Drive and Dalman Parkway while the scene is examined.
