Man found with gunshot wound at Guildford

An investigation is underway after a man was found with a gunshot wound at Guildford this morning.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were called to Marian Street, near Bursill Street, just before 6am (Friday 10 April 2020), after receiving information a 38-year-old man had been found with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead hospital, in a stable condition and will undergo surgery

A crime scene has been established as investigators examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A canvass of the area is currently being conducted.

The incident is now being investigated by detectives, who are appealing for anyone with information to call Cumberland Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
