Man hit by car - Mulgrave

Police are appealing for information after a man was struck by a car in Mulgrave last month.

Investigators have been told a 51-year-old Mulgrave man was crossing Wanda Street at a zebra crossing about 7.20am on Monday 27 May.

As he was crossing the road it is alleged that a silver Holden Commodore, bearing stolen plates WXM-011, drove through the crossing and struck the Mulgrave man.

The driver wound down the passenger window and apologised to the victim before being told to pull over.

The Commodore stopped in a bus stop on Wellington Road for a matter of seconds before driving off.

The driver was perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance, approximately 40-years-old with dark hair and a beard.

Police have released an image of the car and a computer generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
