Man hospitalised after being 'glassed' at party in Coogee

A man will undergo further treatment in hospital after being glassed in the face at a party in Coogee overnight, NSW Police say.

About 1am today (Sunday 22 April 2018) a 24-year-old man allegedly approached a 25-year-old man in the back yard of a home in Arden Street.

Police have been told that the younger man approached the older man and struck him on the left side of his face with a glass beer bottle, which shattered.

The man allegedly continued the assault punching the 25-year-old who fell to the ground.

The assailant immediately left the party.

Several people at the party provided first aid to the injured man prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Ambulance paramedics treated the man and conveyed him to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment to multiple lacerations.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene at the location.

Inquiries continue to locate the 24-year-old man.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
