A man will appear in court today over an alleged assault at Pyrmont this morning.
About 4am (Friday 2 April 2021), emergency services were called to Pirrama Road, following reports a man had been punched several times by an unknown man on the footpath.
A member of the public intervened before the man ran to a nearby licensed premises where he was detained by security.
The injured man suffered facial injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics, however, did not require hospital treatment.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command arrived and arrested the 26-year-old man.
He was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
The Oran Park man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court later today.
