A man will appear in court today charged after a man was stabbed with a nail punch in Sydney's west.

Just before midday yesterday (Tuesday 23 February 2021), two men attended a home on Jindabyne Circuit, Woodcroft, for a pre-arranged meeting to purchase an item advertised on a social media application.

A 26-year-old male occupant spoke to the men, before they became involved in a physical fight.

The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the nail punch from his face.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, police stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer on Northcott Road, Lalor Park, about 12.20pm.

Three men – aged 21, 24 and 25 – were arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

The 21-year-old man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Lalor Park man was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday 24 February 2021).

The other men were released pending further inquiries.
