Man in critical condition after group attack - Girraween

A man remains in a critical condition after being attacked by a group of unknown men in Sydney's west yesterday.

Police have been told about 4pm (Monday 30 December 2019), a 42-year-old man was involved in an altercation out the front of a unit on Mia Mia Street, Girraween, with at least three to four other people.

The man sustained serious head injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which has been examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for anyone who may have information that can assist to come forward.
