Man in critical condition after house fire, South Australia

A man has is in a critical condition following a house fire at Seacombe Gardens tonight.

About 7.15pm on Friday 25 October, emergency services were called to Russell Avenue after reports of smoke billowing from a house.

A Southern District patrol were the first to arrive at the home, the officers smashed through the front door of the house and assisted with getting the three occupants outside.

Fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze but not before the house was significantly damaged.

A 56-year-old man residing at the house, received severe burns from the fire and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

Two elderly occupants and the two police officers who assisted with the rescue, were conveyed to hospital where they were all treated for smoke inhalation.

Fire Cause investigators attended the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Southern District detectives are investigating the incident.
