Man in custody after firearms incident

A man is in custody following a disturbance during which gun shots were fired in New Norfolk overnight.

Multiple calls were received regarding a disturbance and multiple gun shots heard in the vicinity of Benjamin Terrace and Fitzgerald Crescent, New Norfolk about 9.45pm.

Tasmania Police attended the scene and spoke with the occupants of two residences identified as being involved in the matter. There were no reported injuries and the parties involved are known to one another.

As a result of the investigation, a 28 year old man was taken into custody and is assisting police with their investigation.
