Man in custody after woman thrown from balcony in Redfern

A man is in custody after allegedly throwing a woman from a balcony during a domestic incident at Redfern.

About 9.25pm (Sunday 20 January 2019), police were called to a unit block on Moorehead Road, after reports of a domestic incident.

Police attended and located a woman in her 30s who had been thrown from a first floor balcony.

She was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition with fractures.

A short time later, police arrested a 45-year-old man in a unit at the location. He was taken to Redfern Police Station where he is assisting with inquires.

A crime scene has been established at the address.

Whilst at the location, a 34-year-old man unrelated to the incident began damaging a police car with cricket bat.

He was arrested and taken to Redfern Police Station where is expected to be charged with malicious damage.
