Man in custody following Clayton South hit-run

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a 35-year-old man following an alleged hit-run in Clayton South this morning.

The Braybrook man attended the Monash Hospital where he was arrested a short time ago and is under police guard.

The arrest relates to an incident on Clayton Road where two pedestrians were struck by a car while waiting at a bus stop on Clayton Road shortly after 11am.

The 17-year-old Clayton girl was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
