Man injured after house fire in Cranbourne

A man has been taken to hospital with suspected life-threatening injuries following a house fire in Cranbourne this morning.

Police have been told the alarm was raised when one of the residents of the home woke to the fire about 1.30am.

He called emergency services before attempting to alert the other five residents of the home.

Five men were able to get out of the home without injury.

A sixth man, aged in his 60s, was rescued and removed from the burning home by attending fire authorities.

The Cranbourne man has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

At this stage the fire is not being treated as suspicious.

It is expected detectives and an arson chemist will revisit the home today.
