Man injured during building fall in Darlinghurst

Emergency services have conducted a rescue operation in inner Sydney after a man fell about 10 metres between two buildings today, NSW Police say.

A neighbour called Triple Zero just before midday today to report a 19-year-old man had fallen from a courtyard into a gap between buildings at a William Street apartment block at Darlinghurst.

It is not known how long the man had been there.

Due to the limited space between the two walls, a rescue operation commenced with police from Kings Cross Local Area Command, Police Rescue, Fire & Rescue NSW, and NSW Ambulance Paramedics all in attendance.

Traffic diversions were in place in William Street with a crane used during the rescue.

The man was retrieved from the space about 1.30pm suffering serious head and leg injuries and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Police are now conducting inquiries into the circumstances of the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
