Man injured in Putney duplex fire

A man has been seriously injured after a fire at a duplex in Putney this morning, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the home on Stanley Street around 3.50am (Saturday 14 July 2018)

The male occupant, believed to be in his fifties, is being assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

Neighbours in surrounding properties have left their residences as a precaution

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

Once the building has been declared safe, it will be examined by specialist forensic personnel.

Local diversions are in place near the scene of the fire.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
