Man interviewed after child struck by car in Epping

Greensborough Highway Patrol members have interviewed a man in relation to a child struck by a vehicle in Epping on 9 March.

A 6-year-old boy exited a vehicle which was parked along Brush Road about 8.30pm.

It is believed the boy walked to the front of the vehicle and onto the road when a car drove past the parked vehicle and allegedly struck the boy.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and provided their details before leaving prior to police arrival but enquiries revealed the details were incorrect.

The vehicle was located on private property in Eden Park on Friday afternoon.

The 25-year-old Epping man has been interviewed after handing himself into police this evening.

He has been released and will be charged on summons with traffic related offences.

The 6-year-old Epping boy was later transported to hospital at the time with minor injuries and has since been released.
